That was then ...
... this is now! |
After a gestation of nearly 8 months I'm still not 100% comfortable with the whole idea - a mix of self-conscious bemusement, paranoia about identity theft, and worry about the amount of time which blog surfing can consume. BUT I have found it strangely satisfying to share stories with other bloggers, pages with other scrappers and wander around the cyber community that is Blogland!
With perfect timing, this week sees the start of Shimelle's "Blogging For Scrapbookers" which, I hope, will hone my blogging skills, both literally and, perhaps, lyrically!
♥ I'm not intending to post every day - BUT I do promise to think hard about each prompt on the day that it arrives and join in with the forum discussions.
♥ I'm not intending to start following all my classmates' blogs - BUT I do promise to read at least dozen a day to learn from their journeys as well as my own and leave comments to say that I've visited.
Just visiting from Blogging for Scrapbookers... it is reassuring to read that you are as bemused with blogging as I am :)
ReplyDeleteI like how your intentions are practical. I think I may have a hard time keeping up, only because I wonder who in the world really wants to read what I have to say - but I guess you never know.
ReplyDeleteI like your thoughts! Stopping over from the classroom!
ReplyDeleteStopping in from the classroom. You and I feel the same way.... I'm not sure if I can blog every day, but I will try my best. Love your blog!!!
ReplyDeleteNow where can I say I have linked from BFS? nar UKS? nar I set up Google reader to find all new post on any blog that I visit. Woo hoo it works. have you set it up yet Jemma?
ReplyDeletebtw where is your hand on the mouse? :D
ReplyDeleteHehe! I remember those days - and I'm delighted that you have joined the blogging brother, I mean sisterhood. It kind of gets under your skin, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteI was the same way...why would I want a blog. And why would anyone care to read my blog. BFS really helped me get my blog going and I've been loving it ever since. So glad you joined the blog world!
ReplyDeleteHi Class/Crop mate & fellow blogger :)
ReplyDeleteglad you're doing BFS too - happy blogging!

Thanks for stopping by my blog on my blogiversary! I had some of the same feelings when I started blogging, however I so glad I started. I really like your honest intentions! Happy blogging!
ReplyDeletei can relate to your thoughts & intentions. i bet most of us do. probably why we're all in this class together. looking forward to more of your posts! maryjo
ReplyDeleteGlad you HAVE started though! Looking forward to seeing how it and you grow(s)...
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you mean in your line about bemusement! Best wishes for your intentions for BFS!
ReplyDeleteI found that UKS demanded too much daily interaction - whilst blogging means I can do loads on one day and none the next. :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the course!
Nice intentions. See you at BFS.
ReplyDeleteJoining the chourus here....popping over from BFS class. I just joined a few minutes ago. I've been blogging for 6 months and still feel like you. But I also get a lot of satisfaction from posting something that inspires others. Looking forward to checking on your progress as class progresses!
ReplyDeleteI did this class last time and used some of the tips, hoping to get more from it this time as with the baby due in just over 6 weeks, I think it'll be the perfect place to note down key events etc and I can use the blog post for journalling when I get a chance to scrap. I've recently set up a second blog about the kids but will probably keep that private and use the main one for scrapping stuff
ReplyDeleteI'm visiting via BFS and am justing starting my blog journey. I can relate to your thoughts but am finding the prompts are really me focus on where I want that journey to gi
ReplyDeleteHi! Thanks so much for visiting my blog and leaving lovely comments. I think your intentions for class are great; I'm quite sure I won't be able to post every day (and for sure not on weekends when the noise level goes through the roof, LOL!)
ReplyDeleteHi! Enjoy your blog & learn not to be frightened of it. I've been blogging for a couple of years & there are times when I lose confidence but I eventually get over it!! I love reading my fave bloggers but occassionally something or someone new shows up & makes it all exciting again. Have fun xx
ReplyDeleteNice, practical, and well thought-out intentions. I'm not promising to blog everyday either. But I will try to keep my content interesting!
ReplyDeleteWell, I for one am glad you overcame those reservations! It's been great getting to know you and your blog :-) Love your No Direction layout, by the way! xx
ReplyDeleteso i asked why? well i should have just read your blog
