Welcome to another month of kit counterfeiting with the Counterfeit kit Challenge Blog. This month we are welcoming Sherrie as our guest designer to start off the counterfeiting and if you hopped here via Angela you will already know that the luscious kit-to-copy this month is Polly! Scraps March Kit Shoreline. Lots of primary colours mixed with white, some funky buttons, envelopes and trims ...
Now, I haven't been making a huge dent in my kits recently as scrapping time
has been diverted elsewhere, so this month I decide to base a lightweight kit around papers from my scraps bags alone.
Hmmm! Not one single complete sheet of patterned paper; just scraps of various sizes! Which makes it quite hard to type up a list of contents as most of the manufacturer's strips are long gone :-)
Yellows: MME Be Amazing, EP Adventurer, LBD Lemonade, Bazzill Swiss Dot Cardstock, EP Sunshine
Reds: Daisy D's red dot, Kaisercraft Silly Season, EP Rambunctious, Sandylion My Heart Beats For You
Blues: Portobello Road Polka Dot Blue, Kaisercraft Loire Valley
Blacks: Sandylion U Gimme Butterflies, DCWV Black & White Prints
Various trims from my stash
Sandylion Red & Yellow Disney Alphas
Mrs Grossman's Vellum Edge stickers
Various journalling spots including Jenni Bowlin shaped journalling spots
Hand-coloured home-made buttons (check the CKCB on May 8th for lots of counterfeiting tutorials).
Cardstock will be added from my stash as required. It will be interesting to see how far I can stretch the kit and whether the fact that the papers are already cut up will help or hinder creativity.
Now please hop over to Jennifer to see what she's put together from Polly! Scraps inspiration kit.
P.S. There's a call out for new Master Forgers over at the CKCB - if you love counterfeiting why not apply?! The deadline is May 30th!
What a great idea to make a "scrap" kit for scrapping.
ReplyDeleteTee hee.
Rinda
Now that's a great title! And your primary colours look great together - I like that strong blue especially. I'll be keeping my eye open for where it pops up this month.
ReplyDeleteALL from scraps - wow, can't wait to see what you come up with. I always keep the strips on my desk but they pile up so quickly I just bin them anyway :)
ReplyDeleteNow what a cool idea - I've been thinking I need to do something with my scraps and will look forward to seeing what you create :)
ReplyDeletewow, you have tied down the colours in the kit perfectly! this is the colour scheme I seem to have gone a bit off with in my kit. I love it and was also thinking of making up a kit with scraps - maybe next month! Great minds and all that. A perfect counterfeit - sums up everything we do this for :-)
ReplyDeleteI love these colours and the fact that there all scraps, should make for interesting month. Can't wait to see :)
ReplyDeleteloving the vibrancy of this kit, and your buttons are so pretty
ReplyDeleteLove the buttons. As far as the scraps vs whole sheets. I find the scraps more conducive to creative layouts. I am not hesitant to cut or tear or distress them as I might be when faced with a full sheet in all of it's untapped potential.
ReplyDeletePerfect colors for scrapping summer pictures !
ReplyDeleteyour title made me smile! it all looks good and i'm impressed that you know the manufacturers of your scraps! look forward to seeing what you create x
ReplyDeletelikey
ReplyDeleteOne of these months I am going to do the exact same thing. My scrap drawer is brimming. It will add another element to the creative challenge. This kit hardly looks "scrappy". I'm sure there will be some lovely layouts to come.

ReplyDeleteNicely done, as always! You managed to make these colors both fun and sophisticated. Love it!
ReplyDeleteLove the title of this post, as well as how great your kit looks, using only off-cuts! You've managed to totally match the feel of the original kit, and I think you'll be having plenty of fun this month!
