Ooops!
All the recent {I}NSD activities caused me to forget my ZIZO post last week - so it's a double dose for Helena and friends. Back to my garden which is beginning to show signs of life (too much in the case of the grass which needs cutting again).
Last week's pairing was our emergent rhododendron bush - benefiting from increased rain, light and root room following the sad removal of our beautiful silver birch last year (every cloud and all that).
The opposite corner of our garden houses the wheely bins and two potato sacks containing ... can you guess ...
Raspberry canes!
It's one way of stopping the raspberry runners taking over the garden!
What's growing in your garden? Anything edible?
Such a beautiful flower.
ReplyDeleteThe only think edible in our garden is dandelions for Claus ;)
beautiful rhodis and I do love to have raspberries in the garden but they do tend to spread a lot
ReplyDeleteI am a big fan of rhododendrons. Love yours.
ReplyDeleteJust gorgeous! We have one azalea blooming, but no rhododendrons yet. I'd love to have more raspberries in our yard. We have just a few wild ones.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous flower. Nothing edible here yet although we're thinking we might put something in now that the tree next door has been cut down and we've got sun again.
ReplyDeleteNothing edible, but I did consider buying raspberry plants yesterday. I bought Pinks instead.
ReplyDeleteWe've got our raspberries in pots....certainly keeps them 'contained'.
ReplyDeleteI just had to go and read about your silver birch, which I'd missed - my favourite variety of tree :(. Perhaps there'll be a return match one day for their large evergreen. Your blossoms are very pretty - nothing ss floral as that up here yet. Unless you count the dandelions!
ReplyDeleteLovely! Seems flowers and plants are a theme this week.
ReplyDeleteI do love rhododendrons...something we can't get here!...your's is a gorgeous colour!
ReplyDeleteAlison xx
beautiful flowers and I do enjoy raspberries.
ReplyDeletevery pretty flowers. Nothing edible in our garden this year x
ReplyDeletebeautiful!
ReplyDeleteWe lost our birch tree last year too...very sad.
The only edible I try these days is carrots! But haven't even planted anything yet.
No garden for me (I'm an apartment dweller; and besides, I kill plants instantly!)so I'm especially enjoying seeing yours!
ReplyDeleteLovely pics. Edible? In our garden? Everything is BEING eaten, by the slugs
ReplyDeleteThey look lovely! We don't have a garden of any kind right now. Just random long planted perennials and asparagus that is still producing despite being dug up.
ReplyDeleteOh what beautiful flowers :) at the moment our garden is just green really ... And not a great deal is showing it's head in the greenhouse or veg patch. But I live in hope lol
ReplyDeleteSo many lovely spring photos this week - yours included!!
ReplyDeleteI love rhododendrons too they remind my of visiting splendid gardens. I didn't know raspberry canes were annoying, they must be related to the dreaded bramble in my garden. Lovely ZIZO's
ReplyDeleteI've planted runner beans, tomatoes, come again lettuce, chillis and leeks... Should keep me out of mischief for a while! Beautiful Rhododendrons too!
ReplyDeleteI am such a bad gardener! Nothing grows up with me, so I am in awe with your beautiful plants!
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely to see the garden springing into life. I grow lots of herbs and my current bushes are looking promising with lots of buds.
ReplyDeleteOh what a pretty bush. I'm hoping to move some of my raspberries from this garden to the next :)
