Zoom In Zoom Out #21

Not the ZIZO I was planning for this week.  I'd thought I might take some photos in Durham, possibly of No.1 Son and his lovely girlfriend, possibly a shot or two of their not-so-little-anymore Bengal kittens, possibly a view of our car loaded with "stuff" (including 3 chairs, 2 zed-beds, 2 record decks and copious boxes of books) from our place, destined for their newly purchased house.  However a last minute rush around to jam a few more items into the back of our MPV led to me ducking in and out of our garage without fully opening the up and over door ...

... and then, in a classic example of more haste, less speed ...

... I forgot to duck!

Which led to a 90 minute delay while I got the cut on my eyelid glued shut at A&E.  My specs were bent out of shape and gained a scratch or two as well, but probably saved me from worse!

Hopefully Helena's fellow Zoom In Zoom Out-ers will have equally sunny but happier tales this week.  How was your weekend?

  3. Ooh my goodness Jemma. That's the sort of thing I tend to do ... though thankfully I've only been to A+E once. [I was just about to type I'd *never* been to A+E then remembered ... oh yes .... the bike/curb/elbow incident ...].

I do hope you're on the mend soon ... I'm pretty sure closing your eyes for 40 winks in the sunshine is definitely what the Dr would order for that cut.

  11. Arrgh, I am so sad to read this :(. That looks, as my grandson says, very 'ouch-y'. You've made a brilliant ZIZO out of it though ... Hoping it heals neatly and stops hurting ASAP. Thinking of you ...

  14. What are you like? 90 minutes in A&E, you were lucky it wasn't a lot longer! I hope you've laid off the "pop" now and are looking where you are going :)

  15. Ouch - hope it heals quickly. Hope the rest of the trip and move went more smoothly. Agreeing with the 90 minute wait not seeming that long!

  16. Oh! That looks so painful! I think you were lucky you had your glasses on. I hate to think what it might have been like otherwise.

  20. Ouch, I feel your pain. Literally. I managed to lose my balance while leaning over to open a cupboard door on vacation and ran the corner into the side of my nose - close to my eye. I was very lucky I missed it, and equally as lucky that we were in Florida so I could hide behind shades for a few days. I hope you are well healed by now, with no lingering signs.

  21. Ouch, Jemma, this is so something I would do! I know that feeling of rushing, rushing, rushing and then "smack" into something and the accompanying pain.
    Hope you're healing up!
