Nearly half-way through the year with Helena's ZIZO meme. This week I realised that I have an aphid problem in the garden. Yuk!
The ants seem to love 'em ... in fact, it was following the ant trail that led me to discover the scale of the problem! Not sure who the wasp was after though.
We've got lots of aphids as well....and the lupins are covered in greenfly!!
ReplyDeleteyikes about aphids and double yikes since they always attract the ants and wasps.
ReplyDeleteTry a soapy water spray ...use dish detergent like original Dawn (NOT dishwater detergent) with a little olive oil mixed in.
OR since aphids like yellow, place containers of yellow dyed water nearby to attract and drown them.
We are about to have a tent caterpillar infestation...happens once ever 15-20 years
Oh, what a bummer . . . but great photos for ZIZO!
ReplyDeleteLove that wasp pic!.....good luck with the aphids!

Yuck indeed! But a good pair of ZIZO shots!
ReplyDeleteOoh, I hate bugs!

Oh, dear. I hope they don't get the best parts of your fruit! Love your captures.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos, hope you sort the little blighters!
ReplyDeletegreat shots - ants 'farm' aphids for a sweet something they produce. I was squashing a lot in my garden last month but the rain a few weeks ago seemed to reduce them
ReplyDeleteAck! That's a pain. I'm interested in the tip about using yellow water. I wonder would that work
ReplyDeleteSame problem here too. Although our apple tree was covered in Lady Birds the other day, I'm hoping they were helping with the problem and not just adding to it lol
ReplyDeleteArrgh! Blooming things. I always want to believe that all life has a right to be here, but when it's having a go at other life forms ... What a moral maze you have led me into!
