Welcome to the penultimate leg of the April Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog Members' Blog Hop (or CKCBMBH for short)! Today we are sharing our takes on the photo inspiration challenge. I had a go at this earlier in the month ... but it wasn't hard to do another page with my April Counterfeit Kit as the colours of the kit match the inspiration photo pretty well!
I made 95% of this page at my last crop ... in about 30 minutes! Because I had taken about 5 hours to make a single page (too much chatting and faffing around), my neighbour challenged me to get another page done in the remaining time! A quick bit of machine sewing once I was home and it was done!
That is seriously fast for me. But then I find the (space for the) title is often a stumbling block, and I haven't bothered to use one with this page, so perhaps that's the secret to speed scrapping?!
Most of my pages have titles of some sort. Do you think layouts have to have a title?
The final stop on the hop is Glinda, but if you didn't reach me while hopping around the CKCBMBH from Jennifer you might like to nip over to the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog and see what everyone else has done for this challenge.
Gorgeous colours Jemma. 30 minutes? Seriously? That IS super quick for you! I, for one, don't think titles are necessary as your journaling tells the story, and, like you, for me the title takes a lot longer than the page itself!
ReplyDeleteThose colours are just perfect, I nearly always have a title, but don't think that they are always absolutely necessary.
ReplyDeleteFor the first time ever,I've just completed a page where the title was the first thing that came to mind.
The simplicity of this shines through the photo. Nicely done, Jemma.
ReplyDeleteThe stitching finishes it so nicely and yep the colours are perfect :)
ReplyDeleteI frequently don't bother with a title. Emphasize a word or line from the journaling, pull a word from the subject matter or factual stuff - who/where/when.
I thought that's what crops were; chatting, faring & drinking coffee. Well that's all I seem to manage:) by the looks of things you need to get the crop girls to challenge you again, this is fabulous,in such a short time too :)
ReplyDeleteI'm all for super-quick! No, I don't think a page needs a title and I would rather go without than stick in something cringeworthy just to be done with it. For me, having journaling done before I make a start makes me much quicker
ReplyDeleteI'm a quick scrapper when I find the time to sit down and scrap. Max of 1 hour for a LO. I find it that hard to allocate scrapping time in between everything else that I just scrap scrap scrap and try to complete as many as I can.
ReplyDeleteI didn't even notice it didn't have title.....lovely paper choices! I usually do have a title, but never really notice when other people don't!
ReplyDeleteAlison xx
great page for a quickie (and even if it had taken the 5 hours the previous one had)I'm do quadrant LOs quite often.
ReplyDeleteI need to put a title on all of mine somehow for me it isn't complete without, mind you I have been know to use little stickers for titles so 'It's all good' would probably be my title for this page.
That is fast and I love the stitching around the edge, with the combo of straight stitching and zig zags on a layout.
ReplyDeleteThe first rule of scrapbooking is there are no rules. Title, no title, it's all good! Don't you just love how a bit of stitching adds so much texture?
ReplyDeleteBrilliant! I love the words 'super quick' :). The blues and yellow are just right and until I went to a crop, I didn't know about putting titles on! I quite often don't bother, as it's one element less to think about :). Two pages in one crop is still good going!
ReplyDeleteI don't think they have to have titles, especially if they are part of a bigger series. Same for journalling etc.
ReplyDeleteNo I don't think you need to have a title either. The blocks of colours look wonderful.
ReplyDeleteTitles are boring! I often leave them until last.I love the quick simple layout and it turned out very well.
ReplyDeleteStitches were a great add - 30 minutes??? Of course, that's what makes using your CKC kit so great. No worries! It all already goes together!
ReplyDeleteGreat blue and yellow inspiration! And I struggle with titles so I will honestly so, no, all layouts don't need them :)
ReplyDeleteJemma I really like the look of all the background squares. I don't put titles on all my pages either. Sometimes the pictures and just a few words I think is better.
ReplyDeleteI really like the papers you've used and the diagonal layers ontop of the block work is genius.
ReplyDeleteGood grief, that is super quick! What a fabulous result. Gorgeous colours and the stitching is the perfect final detail :0)
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny how sometimes a quick page can be just as satisfying as one that takes a lot longer? I think this one looks great. As for titles, I usually have one, but but don't believe in any "shoulds" in scrapbooking!
ReplyDeleteLove the colours and no I don't think a page has to have a title. In fact until you mentioned it I hadn't noticed there was no title.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the time challenge! Love the angled photos and the amazing stitching! (still going with rub-ons myself LOL!)
ReplyDeletenow that is seriously fast! I take hours and hours - he he! great blocking and lovely colours - the photo did make it easy didn't it? not always a title but more often than not
ReplyDeleteLove the colors in this layout and 30 minutes - WOW! Awesome. I can totally relate to the chatting too much at a crop, that is SOOO me! Well, that and being nosy seeing what everyone else is working on. ;)
