Over on UKScrappers there are occasional mini-cyber-crops when some enterprising souls put together a few challenges to get the creative juices flowing. I spotted one asking us to examine our stash and feature something that we have a lot of but use too little, whilst eschewing patterned paper!
Well my March Counterfeit Kit doesn't have a lot of patterned paper & this would be a good chance to use up several of the journalling cards ... plus LOTS of washi tape ...
... though not as much as at first glance because it's only between the photos and journalling cards, not underneath them {I'm not made of washi unlike a fellow Master Forger at the CKCB who shall remain nameless}!
The photos are from last summer's Scandinavian road trip which culminated in Stockholm. Following a quick introductory tour of the city with friends, we explored the quaint, narrow streets of the old town: "Gamla Stan". Hubby & I had elk meatloaf for lunch. You've got to sample the local dishes when you visit a foreign country, haven't you? However, we did feel guilty seeing real, live elk in the zoo the next day!
What's the weirdest thing you've ever eaten on holiday?
fabulous use of washi - I'd never thought to use it that way and it looks amazing.
ReplyDeleteAt an Australian BBQ place one of the plates we had contained the local icons - kangaroo, crocodile, emu (all very tasty)
Looks nice - and I like that yellow wood grain... don't have any of that - yet ;)
ReplyDeleteWeirdest thing I've eaten? Hmm don't know - we're always willing to try stuff on holiday.
Fed people bison and mussels when they came to our end of American History do and most of those were amazed at the bison and thankful I'd not tried to do rotten fish for the Inuit ;)
Eh ehm!!! Are you talking about moi dear Jemma!?
ReplyDeleteGreat colours and I love the set out and your homemade stitched card looks fab!!!
Can't really answer your question, being a veggie, but I know DH has eaten horse before he became
veggie!
Great page and fab way to use up that washi!
ReplyDeleteI've been scrapping Stockholm too this weekend..very proud of the fact I knew what Gamla Stan meant. That's the limit of my knowledge, though!
ReplyDeleteNot really weird, but because the Cruise ship we were on last year is American, all the sweets in the shop came from the States, which of course meant lots of trying things out
Beautiful layout. Love the idea, and funnily enough I knew exactly what nameless person you were referring to! Lol
ReplyDeleteooh a great way to use washi..very effective. The weirdest thing i've eaten on holiday was a whole banana covered in chocolate ice lollie! ewww...not something i'd eat again.
ReplyDeleteI really like that washi and it works really well as a border between the blocks. I have tried a few 'interesting' foods in the past including one of those African grubs similar to what they have in I am a celebrity!
ReplyDeleteLove how you used the washi tape. I grew up on a ranch and the deer and elk we in our back yard, so we ate a lot it including bear.
ReplyDeleteGreat LO.. I had to look really hard for the washi!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a cool layout looks so inviting to the eye and balanced :)
ReplyDeleteGreat page :)
ReplyDeleteI'm always looking for good ideas to use up some of my vast Washi tape collection, thanks Jemma. This is super.
ReplyDeleteSue x
Great use f wash. I have piles of journalling cards too. I tend to write straight onto my LO - it saves trying to work out where to put another 'box' on a LO. Love what you've done with yours.
ReplyDeleteI was sure I'd commented on this gorgeous layout! Love it and the use of the washi tape!
