April Foolery

Welcome to another month of kit counterfeiting with the Counterfeit kit Challenge Blog.  This month's Kit-to-copy: February's Enchanted Garden Kit from C'est Magnifique Kit Club has been counterfeited already by our Guest Designer Louise, fellow Master Forger Clair and now it's my turn.

I'll be honest and admit that when I first saw the inspiration kit, my heart sank.  It's full of darkly, vintage florals and really not my thing.  However, I spotted that the whole kit was based around a Kaisercraft collection, and remembered that I had a number of Kasiercraft 6.5"x6.5" paper pads, one of which contained a number of darkly, vintage florals - the perfect basis for my kit. A few flowers, ribbons, arrows and pearls later, this is what I came up with:

There are more papers in the Mr Fox pad than you can see here; I didn't want to pull them all out of the pad quite yet.   I'll add cardstock as required.

Looking back at the original, it's obvious I have a different style for displaying a kit:

C'est Magnifique Kit to Copy

So a more accurate counterfeit might be this ;-)

Kit display - the dark side ;-)

Now let's see what Julene makes of the darkly, vinatge floral inspiration - I'm pretty sure she'll cope!  Happy hopping :-)

How funny to see how different we all take the inspiration! Yours is so different from the last on, but yet so gorgeous!Great kit! (And too funny how you "messed it up" and re-photographed it!

Very nice - the pops of black really mirror the original!

I really like your take on the inspiration - the reds, pale blues and grays make a very pretty combination with the black. (And I line up all my papers too and then just toss everything together for a full kit photo ;) )

I had a similar initial reaction. I has some vintage floral die cuts and used them recently. Your last photo looks remarkably close to the original. You've done a fantastic job considering how far it is from your scrapbooking style.

Love this! Your kit definitely reflects the inspiration, but is uniquely yours!

Clapping my hands! Totally love your re-presentation photo to prove that your kit meets the majority of criteria for both the inspiration & your own scrappy style :D
BUT - where are the buttons? (or eyelets, for that matter, hehe)

Love the idea of looking for stash items in the same manufacturer. And love those colors of your kit! Can't wait to see what you create!

The black and orange remind me of Halloween, so it will be interesting to see how you use it during spring!

For someone whose heart sank, you did a very resourceful job! I'm looking forward to watching these bits turn up on pages now.
