Stamped With Heart

Did you spot the Amy Tangerine Stitched Applique heart patterned paper in this month's Kit-to-Copy over at the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog?

I knew I could forge a regular heart pattern ... but how to do it in a time-saving way?

Stamping it out perhaps?  Yes, but hard to get a regular grid ...

What about punched holes for stencilling?
That would work reasonably well:

I marked out 1" lines across a strip of scrap cardstock (starting ½" in from the edge) and punched a heart out at each line, taking care to place the cardstock fully into the punch slot (and lining up the lines with a small pencil mark I'd made on the punch).

Then I used the strip as a stencil and inked out 11 hearts at once!  I was fairly lazy and spaced my lines of hearts quite far apart, but by varying the placement of punched shapes and the strip as a whole you can get a variety of effects.

There are more counterfeiting ideas from my fellow Master Forgers over at the CKCB today.

Very neat, Jemma, and a lot quicker and more accurate than trying to do it with a heart stamp!

Excellent idea. Much easier than stamping them individually. I may have to copy.

No wonky hearts nodding & bowing to each other with this technique! And when I think of all those little punches with cute motifs languishing in my drawer. Genius!

Very clever idea - I've also taped strips together to be able to stagger punched holes. I like easy techniques that look complicated ;)
