Back To The Beginning

Jimjams - May 2015 Kit detail - vintage rosettes
Welcome to the final part of the May Master Forger kit reveal hop for Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog.  Hopefully you've just been to see Susanne's kit, but if not, the hop started here with a visit to our Guest Forger Susan's Flickr page.

I've said it before but it's true that time certainly does fly when you're having fun!  I have been Counterfeit Kitting for just over four years now and this month we have been counterfeiting the very first inspiration kit from back in January 2011.  I missed that month (my debut kit was February 2011) so it's been fun to be going back to the beginning again.

We were given the main kit and an add-on to counterfeit back then, and this year we also had a current add-on added on!  I'm never one for making a large kit, so I just stuck with the main one and decided to add looked through my stash to see what Jenni Bowlin supplies I had.

JBS Dec 2010 Main Kit

As it turned out, not a lot apart from a sticker sheet and 4 journalling tags!  I did come across sheet of paper with a striking geometric pattern plus a grungy, spotty sheet ... and took it from there.  Apart from those two papers, the rest of the kit is scraps, part sheets and random journalling cards.

Jimjams - May 2015 Kit

Not quite as vintage as the original, but it has to work for me and my photos!  My nod towards those Studio Calico Notions are made with a Sizzlet rosette die and pages from a book, but I know that there will be closer counterfeits in our Forgeries on the Fourth post ... on May 4th!

Don't forget to stop by the CKCB tomorrow when we're celebrating {Inter}National Scrapping Day!

I'm stunned that the first counterfeit is that long ago. Where does time disappear to? It's still fun to look at what everyone comes up with, though: great fun

Wow, that's a very nostalgic kit indeed - so true to the original. I cannot wait to see what you choose to scrap with it, and how it all turns out. And time does fly by, doesn't it.

You really captured the "feel" of Jenni's kit. I like how you have bold and striking items like the number paper and the black/cream print but the colors work so well together so make a really harmonious collection. Looking forward to seeing how you use it all!

Oooh, love what you've put together! I have a lot of these papers, I will have to keep them in mind if I add to my kit! A stunning collection, Jemma!

Beautiful kit :) I love the vintage feel to it and love the trip down memory lane to that you all did.

Perfection.
Definitely caught the vibe & made it your own. Love that it is a manageable size! Sweet stroll into the past :-)

Nice kit. I am liking all the vintage softer colors this month after the wild geometric stuff we did last month. Can't wait to see what you make with your kit.

More neutrals in your kit will make those photos stand out! I like all your elements so much.

It hardly seems like it's been 4 years since the counterfeiting FUN began. Great kit you've come up with!

That is a vintagey kit in my eyes. Reminds me of the farm house kitchens of our neighbours in my early years. This hop has been a wonderful walk back in time for me. See you on the linky.

I like your kit! I don't think mine will be that vintage either. :)

you are always so sensible in not making your kits too large. seems to be a problem for me!

Great kit full of lots of stuff I recognise and really love. I can really imagine your pages using these items!
